Summary:

The Tanks at London’s Tate Modern Museum played host to Twitter and the event ‘ Twitter for Brands’, bringing together 500 UK marketers for a series of announcements, presentations and stories about how the social media platform can be used to help campaigns achieve their full potential.

Speaking at the event from Twitter were UK sales director Bruce Daisley, senior director of product for revenue Kevin Weil, and UK managing director Tony Wang. Also taking to the stage were delegates from Paddy Power, Live Nation, Electronic Arts and AmEx.

Concept:

The # – Twitter’s most iconic social media feature from the start of it’s beginnings, welcomed guests to the event space, through the doors of Tate Modern inside the Turbine Hall.

Descending through the hashtag guests entered the gritty, dark and atmospheric spaces of The Tanks. Branded blue lighting illuminated feature areas – notably a Twitter vending machine and Twitter shop, both activated by a tweet to receive complimentary goods.

As guests continued towards the main conference space, appropriate #’s greeting them at each step of their journey. A central stage made of breeze blocks with an overhead projected cube, went against traditional conference setup. Bold statements reflecting the content projected on to the surrounding walls, enveloping the audience. This created a 3-dimensional layered approach, to a screen-based presentation.
