Summary:
The Royal Academy of Arts Annual Auction and Dinner – a private event celebrating and presenting the works of artists of tomorrow from within the schools of the Royal Academy of Arts.
500 guests were seated to dinner and were treated to a live auction at the end of the evening, where pieces of art could be purchased. The event was hosted by the Royal Academicians for patrons and members of the Royal Academy of Arts – including the famous, wonderful and much loved, Grayson Perry.
Concept:
The event took place within one of the many the traditional white art galleries within the Royal Academy of Arts.
Large paint drips filled a surrounding wall from ceiling to floor – inspired from the environments within the schools of the Royal Academy.
The schools typically formed of many cobbled corridors and large rooms usually filled with artist works and art materials. Paint splashes and propped up artist works filled the spaces. This inspired a raw approach to the event, treating the gallery walls as an extension of the school. And where the schools meets the art world.
