Client:
L’Oréal Professionnel
Creative Agency:
Fisher Productions
Summary:
The prestigious L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy – the longest running hairdressing event in the world. A travelling roadshow and competition, touring major cities of the UK. The competition is a flagship event for L’Oréal Professionnel, aimed at the hairdressing industry, salon owners and salon teams inspiring them to push creative boundaries and celebrate Hair Inspired by Fashion.
Having ran for many years, a redesign of the tour format was created in order to evolve the competition further. The overarching concept echoed the excitement of Fashion Week in London behind the scenes and front of house.
Concept:
“Backstage in Fashion” – A simple but modular set that reinforced the backstage concept. It’s simplicity meant that the production crew could install in a variety of different sized venues with relative ease.
A variety of white cubes from scaffold bars were formed in different variations from venue to venue for the travelling competition. Relay screens with exposed cables, showed screen content, and catwalks were marked with white key lines direct to flooring.
The seats of the audience interspersed around the catwalk areas, creating intimacy and engagement – making the audience feel part of the catwalk show, rather than observing from the distance.
Modular in design, raw in look and feel, providing a fresh and different approach to previous L’Oreal Colour Trophy Shows.
