Summary:

A VIP hospitality and brand experience right at the heart of the world’s most prestigious international interior design event, Salone del Mobile, in Milan. Ford’s global team portrayed the multi-disciplinary creativity of its automotive designers, by showcasing pieces of their work within furniture and product design.

Designers from Ford’s global studios exhibited the guiding principles that drive the interior design philosophy for the Ford GT – clarity of intent, innovation, and connection – applied to a range of non-automotive exhibits.

“We have an incredible amount of talent in our global studios,” said Moray Callum, vice president, Design, Ford Motor Company. “The public rarely sees more than 10 per cent of the work that happens in our studios. This is the perfect opportunity to share some of the creativity within our team while also offering our designers an opportunity to go beyond the everyday work and get exposure to new ideas that will inspire for future Ford designs.”

 Concept:

“The international year of light” – proclaimed by Unesco for 2015, became the internal theme for Salone del Mobile and all of it’s exhibitors, and the heart of the creative execution.

Light projections, light installations, illuminated messaging, and graphic design enveloped the multi-disciplined works of the creatives at Ford. 10 pieces of work, ranging from a clock to a sofa, were displayed  showing how the philosophy of design can be applied to completely new sectors. Neon lights in shapes enveloped each piece.

Ford designers used the principles of the design for their latest invention of the Ford GT.  Whilst the Ford GT could not be displayed, the vehicle was portrayed through design language and content, and a large scale computer rendering was displayed as guests approached the stand.
