Summary:
The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity showcases the best in creativity and innovation within the worlds of marketing and advertising. Taking place every year for an entire week in the heart of Cannes in the South of France, Facebook and its partnering family of apps and brands showcase the latest developments from their services for both business and consumer audiences.
Here, both on the beach and pier of ‘Barriere Majestic Hotel’ on the famous La Croisette, a programme of installations, performances, events and keynote sessions were held under a theme ‘Connected we can create anything’. Apps and brands from Facebook showcasing included Messenger, Whatsapp, Instagram, and Oculus Rift.
Concept:
‘Connected we can create anything’ – Connectivity and creativity, brought to life by the use of gradient colour, slats and angles, as connecting visual elements linking a variety of spaces from multiple levels of the venue.
Organic textures such as foliage and moss were used to soften the architectural, contemporary and linear look and feel, bringing to life the idea of creativity as a growing, continually evolving thing of beauty.
Facebook takes over a huge footprint of space on both the outdoor beach space and within the interior of the hotel. This concept and look and feel unified the spaces, marking them as ‘Facebook at Cannes Lions’.
