Summary:

The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition Preview Party  – a successful annual event marked as a landmark in the art world calendar, attended by celebrated names from art, fashion and literature. The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition is the world’s largest open-submission contemporary art show, and the preview party marks the opening for each year.

Without obstructing the walls of art, using transparency and reflections, a series of installations, food and drinks bars and performance areas were designed and produced for guests touring the preview of exhibition.

Concept:

The design scheme for the event drew inspiration from raw materials and eclectic graphic patterns. Gritty metals, perforated aluminium and scaffold structures contrasted with luminous colour and monochrome graphic treatment.

The famous courtyard of the Royal Academy of Arts, shone brightly in illuminous yellow carpet, contrasted against the metallic focal artwork suspended in front of the facade of the building.

Food and drinks bars ranged from a reflective abstract circular cutout, which guests received desserts from to a large 5m scaffold cube with giant ‘RA’ letters in the middle of the show.
